T-01: Models painted, bases ready
EN The models are painted and the bases are ready for the next step.
T-02: Applying the glue
EN I brush a generous coat of PVA (white) glue onto the bases.
This is the stage where everything gets slightly messy and your fingers become part of the terrain project.
HR Kistom nanosim obilni sloj bijelog (PVA) ljepila na baze.
Ovo je faza u kojoj sve postaje pomalo neuredno, a vaši prsti postaju sastavni dio terena.
T-03: Sand selection
EN This is the sand I use for most of my bases. It's sea sand with a fairly fine grain.
I also keep coarser sand, small stones and various other basing materials on hand. Sometimes I use just one type, sometimes I mix everything together for a bit more variety.
There is no science here. If it looks good, it is good.
Ponekad koristim samo jednu vrstu, a ponekad ih kombiniram kako bih dobio malo više raznolikosti.
Ovdje nema nikakve znanosti. Ako izgleda dobro, onda je dobro.
T-04: Sand applied
EN The sand has been sprinkled onto the bases.
At this point the bases always look terrible, but don't worry, trust the process!
HR Pijesak je posipan po bazama.
U ovoj fazi baze uvijek izgledaju grozno, ali bez brige, vjerujte procesu!
T-05: Base colour
EN Once the glue has fully dried (usually around 3-4 hours), I paint the sand with a brown base colour.
For this example I'm using Raw Sienna.
Because I'm covering large areas, I use these larger and much cheaper acrylic paints rather than my hobby paints.
The models get the expensive paint. The dirt gets the budget treatment.
U ovom primjeru koristim Raw Sienna nijansu.
Budući da bojim velike površine, koristim veće i znatno jeftinije akrilne boje umjesto hobby boja.
Modeli dobivaju skupe boje. Zemlja dobiva budžetski tretman.
T-06: First drybrush
EN After the base coat has dried, I apply a drybrush of Iraqi Sand.
This starts bringing out all the texture created by the sand.
T-07: Second drybrush
EN Next comes a lighter drybrush using Sand Yellow.
This adds more contrast and helps highlight the raised details.
HR Slijedi nešto svjetliji drybrush bojom Sand Yellow.
Time se povećava kontrast i dodatno ističu izdignuti detalji.
T-08: Wash time
EN Once everything is dry, I flood the bases with a mixture of:
- 2/3 Agrax Earthshade
- 1/3 water
The wash helps blend everything together and adds depth to the texture.
- 2/3 Agrax Earthshade
- 1/3 vode
Wash pomaže povezati sve elemente u jednu cjelinu te dodatno naglašava dubinu i teksturu baze.
T-09: Soaking wet
EN Here you can see just how heavily the wash is applied.
Don't panic if it looks too dark at first. Agrax has scared many hobbyists before, but it usually behaves once it dries.
T-10: Finished bases
EN The bases are now completely dry.
If needed, I apply one final very light drybrush using the last colour from the previous step. In this case, that would be Sand Yellow.
And that's it!
A quick, simple and inexpensive basing method that works well for tabletop armies and lets you spend more time painting new models instead of agonising over terrain for each individual base.
Of course, none of this helps reduce the pile of shame. It just helps the painted models look nicer while they watch new boxes arrive... 😄
Naravno, ništa od ovoga neće smanjiti „pile of shame”. Samo će obojani modeli izgledati ljepše dok promatraju dolazak novih kutija... 😄
Final result
EN Simple, fast, cheap and perfectly suitable for getting entire armies onto the tabletop.
After all, painted armies win more games than unpainted boxes! 😉🎨
HR Jednostavno, brzo, jeftino i savršeno prikladno za pripremu cijelih vojski za stol za igru.
Uostalom, obojane vojske pobjeđuju u više bitaka od neobojanih kutija! 😉🎨
